The sinking of the Bismarck

This was based on a wartime memory for the Letchworth Art Centre project. It was done with a dip pen and ink and watercolour.

Pen and Ink

Many years ago (2005) I gave Gabriel some pen and ink to draw with, and he produced this Firebird. Last week I visited his school and he created a scene of Dunkirk for the World War 2 project I've been running in local schools (see more HERE). It was interesting to see how he has become slightly more self-conscious and critical over those years - a normal progression I suppose. Gabriel is SO busy with school work (SATS approaching) that I thought I'd post for him for now...

Some more older pictures from when Gabriel was around 7 years old. He remains fascinated by pirates and knights in shining armour!

While he was sleeping

Gabriel's been off school with a cold, and didn't feel like drawing. So I thought I'd post some of his older stuff (this is his Dad by the way). I love these drawings and he is a constant inspiration to me. These drawings were done when Gabriel was 8 years old. The first is a portait of the two of us, the others reveal his (ongoing) interest in marine life, cephalopods in particular.




















Like most boys, he is especially interested in how big these monsters grow. Facts on giant squid seem to vary, but there are unconfirmed reports that these particular calamari can read over 50 metres and that their only possible predator is the Sperm Whale. Hardly surprising that for Gabriel, Archteuthis Dux is the new Tyrannosaurus Rex!

I did this picture before Christmas. I did it at school. My Dad says it looks like David Hughes did it. he is a famous artist.

This is a picture of some grokes I drew because I like the menacing Groke.
The Groke is in some Moomin books(Moominland Mid winter).

More Star Wars

This is quite an old picture, I did it a long time ago. Boba Fett is my favourite Star Wars character. He's a bounty hunter like his Dad Jango Fett.
